Inbtermediate Fiddle CampViolinists – instead of putting the instrument away until school starts again, why not keep up those skills this summer! Come fiddle around with our fearless leader Emmy Trivette, our Irish, Scottish and American folk-music playing fiddler from Nags Head.

Summer Fiddlers have their own instruments, are any age and have been playing from one to five  years. Summer classes will be held on Saturdays from 10-11 for eight weeks, beginning June 15th, at Ascencion Music in Kill Devil Hills. Cost for the summer $115.

Bring your own instrument, rosin, and chin rest or sponge. Pencils, folders and music will be provided.  And most importantly, be ready to have some fun! Reservations are required and space is limited to six students. Payment holds your spot – click here to sign up now.

Fiddle? Violin? What’s the difference? Here’s a fun answer, from Google, for those who want to know!  “The difference is in the specifics, a Violin IS a Fiddle, but a Fiddle IS NOT NECESSARILY a Violin. This is the same as saying a human IS a Mammal, but a Mammal IS NOT NECESSARILY a human. In other words any bowed string instrument can be called a Fiddle.” Here, we are using “fiddle” to mean the violin playing Irish, Scottish and American folk music.
